Course Overview
This two-day course, open to only 20 people, will teach the DWI practitioner about the theory of headspace gas chromatography with an emphasis on the science of separation and volatile quantitation. In addition to the discussion of proper blood draw technique, the course will provide up close and in person blood draw demonstrations.
For the hands-on segment of the course, each participant will:
1) Prepare human blood headspace vials for analysis
2) Program an autosampler sequence using ChemStation software and arrange prepared headspace vials on an Agilent 7697A
3) Run individual calibration curves and sample analysis using ChemStation software on a state-of-the-art Agilent 7890B Gas Chromatograph.
